Update of Sorts (It's Been a While)

Hey, guys! So, I know it's been a while since I last posted, and I'm sorry! I've been having a bit of a blank recently on what to post on... :) BUT I do have a few thoughts (any ideas from you guys on a post you'd like me to do? Let me know in the comments!), and I have some fun news to share with you all!

How pretty is this poster!?
I AM GOING TO SEE THE NEW CINDRELLA TOMORROW!!!! I am SO very excited, because it looks like it's going to be so great, and then there's Frozen Fever to look forward to, with adorable Olaf and mini...marshmellows?, and Oaken and all of the other main characters are back! Cinderella also looks quite spectacular - the acting, the costumes, and so much more! Plus, I am also excited because we're going to my favorite theater! Does that sound weird at all? Haha - oh, well! ;)

Other bookish news:

I just finished R.M. Ballantyne's The Island Queen last night. It was a very fun book, and I enjoyed it! There were fun characters (especially Otto, one of the castaways, who made me laugh), and it was a pretty quick read because it kept me interested. I was smiling through almost a whole chapter! Anyways, I did enjoy it, but I thought the ending could've been better. Overall, however, it's recommended!

I've officially started reading the epic by Homer, The Iliad, today for school. So far...it's pretty boring and...strange. I think I'll be happy when I have it finished!

Randomness:

I have a comforter project in Home Ec. to do this week! My mom and I went to Hancock's and got fabric and other materials for it on Friday, so I'll try to start soon. I might post after I've finished it on how it goes (with pictures)! It's going to be a small comforter, so I am going to give it to my one-year-old niece if it turns out all right. :)

That's all I have for an update now, but do expect another post from me soon!

-Micaiah-

Are you going to see Cinderella? Have you read The Island Queen, or any other book by Ballantyne? What books have you been reading?

A Trailer

I thought I'd share with you the new trailer for Disney's short, Frozen Fever, that's premiering before Cinderella!

I am personally really looking forward to both the short and the movie - they both look so good!

Here it is:

Isn't Olaf adorable? And did catch a glimpse of Oaken? Are you looking forward to Frozen Fever and Cinderella?

A Bunch of Announcements

Some of you might've heard of the new, live-action take on Peter Pan that's coming to theaters this year, starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Amanda Seyfried, and introducing Levi Millar as none other than Peter Pan himself. And it's officially coming July 24th! That's three days before my 15th birthday (which is July 27th), so maybe I can persuade my family to go with me then! ;)

I've actually only seen the original, animated Peter Pan once - and I was about six years old, so I can't say for sure if I liked it or not!

Anyways, it looks like a rather adventurous movie - and you know me and adventure (and if you don't, just look at the title of my blog)! ;) Plus, Levi Miller seems like a really great new actor from the trailer! Granted, he's only 11 or 12 years old, but that only makes it more impressive!

Levi Miller also had a small role in the ninth episode of one of my favorite shows - Terra Nova. That's not a big deal, but it was interesting to find out! :)

Here's the trailer for Pan:

All right, now for another announcement:

Cinderella is coming to theaters on March 13th! This is also a new, live-action take on the much-loved Disney classic. It seems to be a new 'phase' that the movie-making world is going through: recreating animated Disney movies! Because they're also going to start production on a live-action Beauty and the Beast later this year! Oh, and, um... they're also doing a live-action Jungle Book!! And guess who's voicing Sher Khan!? Benedict Cumberbatch, that's who! This is just a mind-blowing myriad of announcements I'm throwing at ya here... ;)

Okay, okay...back to Cinderella.

I am looking forward to seeing this one (even more so than Pan), and there is a teeny, tidbit of news that makes it all the more great...

The new Frozen short, Frozen Fever, is premiering with Cinderella!!! So instead of just seeing Cinderella,  you'll also be seeing Frozen Fever! How cool is that!?

So, to whet your appetite for both Cinderella and Frozen Fever, here is the Cinderella trailer, and the synopsis for Frozen Fever:

Frozen Fever synopsis:

On Anna's birthday, Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.
Starring: Idina Menzel (as Elsa), Josh Gad (as Olaf), Kristen Bell (as Anna), and Jonathan Groff who plays Kristoff (all of the original voices from Frozen).
Running time: 7 minutes

On Cinderella:

I have to say that it looks like they've done a really great job on it! And also with making it more real-to-life. In the animated film, Cinderella is pretty at ease with her life as a servant, but I think it would be much harder in reality - especially with such a cruel stepmother and stepsisters. And she certainly didn't grow up as a servant! Do you agree?

Really, though, it looks like it's going to be a good adaption! And it also seems as though they made some pretty good casting selections! Agreed?

And we are so going to the theaters for this... There's no missing it.

What about you? Are you looking forward to any of the movies just mentioned? What about Cinderella and Frozen Fever? What do you think of Prince Charming and Ella? What do you think of the new Peter Pan?

Tangled Review - A Disney Fairytale

Tangled
5 stars
Starring: Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy
Release Date: November 24, 2010
Running time: 1h 40m

When the kingdom's most wanted - and most charming - bandit, Flynn Rider, hides out in a mysterious tower, he's taken hostage by Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn's curious captor, who's looking for her ticket out of the tower where she's been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. Tangled is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair -- lots of hair.

My absolute favorite princess fairytale from Disney is Rapunzel’s story: Tangled. I won’t say it charmed me immediately, because I first watched it when I was younger, and I hated the witch, so, naturally I had a hard time watching the movie at all. My older sister loved it, though, and I never understood why. (As you can see, Mother Gothel totally spoiled the whole thing for me).

But, not too long ago, it was on regular T.V., so the whole family agreed to watching it again. Boy, am I glad we did! I fell in love with it! Surprised? So was I!

Tangled is charming, energetic, magical, funny, sweet, and romantic. It has all the elements to make the perfect Disney princess movie. I even prefer it over Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella! *Shock* I just think it's such a great movie!

Flynn and Max
I love Flynn Rider (a.k.a Eugene), played by Zachary Levi. His humorous attitude, smolder, and the mishaps that befall him never fail to make me laugh. Disney really hit a home run when they created him. To me, Flynn is one of the most memorable Disney heroes to ever come on screen. His incredible sacrifice of giving his life to save Rapunzel from slavery showed his unsurmountable love for her. He’s definitely a ‘swoon worthy’ Disney prince.

Rapunzel, played by Mandy Moore, is beautiful, sweet, spunky, independent, and absolutely charming. She’s a brilliant Disney princess, with a huge heart, big dreams, and a head full of hair - lots and lots of hair. Again, she is one of the most memorable, and best, Disney princesses of all time. Plus, Rapunzel has one of the prettiest voices - I’ll enjoy getting to go back to the movie time and time again to listen to the music. (Or YouTube works too…)

Tangled has the feel of a classic Disney princess movie - the characters, the setting, the story, the songs. The bright colors and wonderful animation make it a really fun movie to watch over and over again.

Tangled is a beautiful masterpiece - one of the best Disney movies I’ve seen yet! I adore it and the characters therein.

But, sadly, they just can't get Flynn's nose right... :)
